The Kancil Awards Festival 2008 Speaker Series is a full-day conference featuring leaders in the Malaysian corporate, creative and political landscape. For the first part of the conference, four speakers will share how creativity is important to their businesses and brands and how they have changed the game. The speakers are:


	Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, former Minister of Health, is a rare politician who believes in taking accountability for his own actions. And that's what makes a breath of fresh air and ultimately a game-changer in the political landscape.

	Independent film director Ho Yuhang is famed for directing poignant independent films that has raised the bar for the filmmaking industry in Malaysia. His films have received many accolades including a Special Mention by the jury of the 9th Pusan International Film Festival in South Korea.

	Sirajudin Mohammed Mydin is the managing director of Kayu Nasi Kandar. Since the opening of his first stall, Sirajuddin's brand of management and entrepreneurial spirit has changed the game in business and raised the standards of your modern-day nasi kandar restaurants.

	Carl Zuzarte is the Head of MTV Content and Creative for Asia. His job is to change the game so that he is always one step ahead of the fickle and fluid music entertainment business.

This session will be followed by a moderated panel discussion on how creativity is becoming the engine of economic growth not just in the creative industries alone, but in other prime industries as well. The panelists are:

	Dato’ Sri Shazalli Ramly is Chief Executive Officer and Director of Celcom Berhad. Prior to Celcom, Dato’ Sri Shazalli was the Chief Executive Officer of ntv7 and has vast experience in the FMCG industry.

	Karim Raslan is an author and consultant specializing on issues concerning ASEAN. He is a regular commentator on Asian Affairs and moderate Islam for both regional and international media.

	Young entrepreneur Benjamin Yong is CEO of The Delicious Group, a small but growing chain of family restaurants including DELIcious, d’lish, and ReUnion

	Director, dramaturg, writer and actor Jo Kukathas drives the overall artistic direction of the Instant Café Theatre Company, where she is responsible for creating much of the company’s trademark political satire.

	Moderator: Malik Imtiaz Sarwar is a leading Malaysian lawyer and activist, and the current president of the National Human Rights Society (HAKAM). He continues to be at the forefront of efforts aimed at promoting the rule of law, constitutionalism and civil rights discourse both in and outside court.
