Rapuh is inspired from the life story of the director, who faced a cathartic experience when his 44 years old mother was giving birth where generally it is risky to be pregnant in such age. Together with the writer, the director brought out the characteristics of each of the existing family members to create a sense of believability and polar opposites to show the perspective of each character towards one event. An extensive casting process was done to find the most suitable talent that could impersonate the traits closely. This film also explored various shooting styles, with one being the one long take, for the build up to maintain its tense nature of each character’s inner feelings.
