This project addresses the perception barrier around cricket protein, often seen as unfamiliar or unappetizing, by translating it into a culturally trusted format. Drawing on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the Five Elements, we reposition cricket protein from “exotic” to “natural and nourishing,” using a visual language of heritage, balance, and renewal. In classical Chinese culture, crickets symbolize prosperity and good fortune, reinforcing the product’s suitability as a gift. Instead of literal insect imagery, the packaging employs gold-foiled illustrations and TCM-inspired motifs to cue wellness and refinement, while an interactive circular mechanism reinforces symbolism of wholeness, renewal, and a subtle wish for good fortune. The result is a premium, giftable snack system that aligns modern nutrition with timeless Chinese philosophy, transforming hesitation into acceptance and stigma into trust.
