Baskin Robbins was launching a new range of ice cream cakes for Chinese New Year. Reunion dinners normally have traditional desserts, but not ice cream cakes. How can we get people to accept them?
Bring the Lion Home allowed Malaysians to experience the majesty of a lion dance in the comfort of their home, at a fraction of the price of the real thing. And we turned a simple consumption moment into an immersive audio-visual experience. First, we designed the box to look like a lion head. Inspired by traditional lion dance costumes, we modernised it with clean lines, polka dots, and eye-catching colours. We also weaved in Chinese New Year symbols of good luck, such as Mandarin oranges, fireworks and lanterns. Then, we used AR technology and 3D rendering to bring the lion to life – scan the QR code on the box, and choreograph your own AR lion dance.
