During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims come together to fast and give to those in need. While fasting is compulsory for Muslims, it is important to remember that animals are not bound by the same obligations. They still need to eat. Unfortunately, fewer restaurants remain open during the day as most people tend to eat at home leaving strays on the streets forgotten and hungry. As the Pet Care Specialist, ProDiet wanted to make sure that abandoned animals are treated with care and compassion too.
To allocate more funds for donations towards feeding strays, ProDiet chose to skip a costly festive campaign for an animated short film illustrated by hand. Inspired by real stories of Malaysian kindness, the film encouraged the community to take action. Through a partnership with e-commerce platform Shopee, anyone could donate to feed strays during the holy month of Ramadan. Each donation made through the official Shopee store was matched by ProDiet to double the impact. The campaign successfully gathered a total of 6,840 meals; an amount that was enough to sustain ONE YEAR’s food supply for PAWS Malaysia, an organisation dedicated to helping stray animals in need.
