Bridgerton: Season 3 was an upcoming fan favorite launch of Netflix in 2024 – a title that’s set in Regency-era England and follows the lives of Bridgerton siblings as they find love matches, under the watchful eye of London’s elite society. Given the positive reception towards the diversity in the title’s premise and casting, the brief encompassed bringing Malaysia and by virtue of it, mass Malaysian netizens on social, to the world of Bridgerton and creating mass conversation.
Insights of ours point towards the Malaysian need for positive global representation and we’ve noticed Bridgerton-specific sentiments pointing towards Malaysians envisioning what Malaysian flavour could bring to Bridgerton. Narrowing down, we knew Malaysians were dying to see what a Malaysian would wear to one of the lavish balls in the series. We also noticed the general claiming of local fabrics within the region (batik constantly being claimed between Malaysia and Indonesia) and went down that route, to put together an evening dress with renowned local designer Syomirizwa Gupta that featured the fabric.
