Brief

World Rivers Day is celebrated yearly to raise awareness of the threats that our waterways face. Even though rivers contributed to almost all of Malaysia’s water supply, our rivers don’t get the attention that they deserve compared to other causes. There’s an urgent need to take action as river pollution is a yearly crisis that continuously affects our communities, the environment, and ecosystems.

Solution

A Masterpiece for River Peace. Using art as a powerful voice for river conservation.

Shielder, an eco-friendly wastewater treatment solution provider, saw an opportunity to leverage on this occasion to shed light on the importance of protecting our rivers. In collaboration with students from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, we transformed the blank walls of our treatment plants into a vibrant mural that symbolises our commitment to river conservation.

The design was inspired by the bacteria in our treatment process, which flow from the discharge pipe to form various species of aquatic life. Each stroke represents Shielder’s efforts to protect our water sources and nurture biodiversity, turning the plants’ exterior into a powerful message that brings our mission to life.
