World Rivers Day is celebrated yearly to raise awareness of the threats that our waterways face. Even though rivers contributed to almost all of Malaysia’s water supply, our rivers don’t get the attention that they deserve compared to other causes. There’s an urgent need to take action as river pollution is a yearly crisis that continuously affects our communities, the environment, and ecosystems.

Solution

A Masterpiece for River Peace. Using art as a powerful voice for river conservation.

Shielder, an eco-friendly wastewater treatment solution provider, saw an opportunity to leverage on this occasion to shed light on the importance of protecting our rivers. In collaboration with students from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, we transformed the blank walls of our treatment plants into a vibrant mural that symbolises our commitment to river conservation.

Before World Rivers Day, Shielder hosted an exhibition at the KLCC Convention Centre to educate industrial SMEs on treatment processes. The initiative extends beyond this, with ongoing efforts to raise awareness through social media platforms
