Brief

On 31 August 1957, millions of Malaysians witnessed the birth of Malaya, also known as Merdeka. On that day, many great things happened that truly reflect the Malaysian spirit.

But for the last 65 years, most of what’s documented and studied about that momentous day revolve around one man’s speech. As a brand that believes there’s generosity in everyone, how can we shine a light on the generosity that’s embedded the fabric of this nation?

Solution

For the first time ever, Cadbury Dairy Milk uncovers the stories of generosity that unfolded around that speech.

Through hours of interviews, we found stories of goodness that have never been told before. These stories were turned into keyword inputs using MidJourney to recreate a part of history that has never been seen before - becoming the pages of Malaysia’s first book with the untold stories of Merdeka. Currently, these books are being distributed in education centres across Malaysia.
